Information regarding the opening of dental practices on the 8th June

COVID-19 re-opening update
I am sure many of you heard yesterday’s announcement about dental practices reopening from the 8th June. This announcement was made public without any prior consultation with dental practices and like all dentists up and down the country we await further guidance and clarification.
Here at the Carberry Dental Practice we have already been working hard to make the necessary adjustments and changes to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. This includes trying to source Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which as you are aware is incredibly difficult.
From the 8th June, we will begin seeing our patients face-to-face but prioritising dental emergencies over routine dental care so please be patient with us. The number of appointments available for each day will be limited due to restrictions on the number of people allowed in the practice at any one time and the time needed between appointments to decontaminate the surgery.
The types of treatment we will be able to carry out will also be limited. Initially, we will be unable to perform treatments creating aerosols i.e. the scaling(cleaning) of teeth, drilling and the use of a water spray. As lockdown measures are relaxed and the incidences of Covid-19 decrease giving a lower R rate, we will be able to resume more routine treatments over time.
All the staff at Carberry Dental Practice appreciate your patience and understanding at this difficult time. We look forward to resuming your dental care as soon as safely possible.
Wishing you continued health and safety,
The Carberry Dental Team
